This is a first-person shooter released in February, 2009 in the US and in November, 2009 worldwide. It is a sequel to COD: Modern Warfare and follows the same plot. The game had a great commercial success and is considered to be the biggest video game launch in history with $1 billion in sales worldwide in the course of 3 months upon the release.
The single-player mode is very powerful and takes the breath away with the beautiful landscapes of various geographical locations such as Rio de Janeiro, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan and other unusual spots. Visual effects impress players with attention to detail and overall sense of action and destruction around. Sound effects are a big improvement as well compared to the first two parts. The main disappointment of the campaign is its duration. It is pretty short and experienced players will be able to accomplish all missions in a few hours.
The multiplayer is truly awesome with its level of depth and outstanding visual effects that suck player into the game environment and make them feel engaged into the combat. This time around there are a lot more perks and weapons to be discovered along with more routes to explore the area. Among the game strengths a compelling plot, in-depth multiplayer, beautiful sound and visual effects were named. The main downsides are the short length of the campaign and the lack of innovation were mentioned.
